Features and Benefits
4, 8, 12, or 16 Axes of Control - High axis count in a single ISA card lowers per-axis cost and saves valuable motherboard slots.
AMD 486DX5 128 MHz Processor - 32 bit processor with 80 bit floating point hardware operates at 128 MHz providing abundance power to control advanced machines.
Servo or Stepper On Any Axis - Flexible motor configuration frees the developer to select the most cost-effective motor technology for each axis of motion.
Hardware Capture and Compare - High performance motion-I/O coordination extracts precise measurement and control from simple I/O devices.
Coordination Tailoring - Application language can readily describe custom coordination and sample-rate kinematics to solve unique application specific requirements.
Windows '95 and Windows NT Tools - SAW real-time visual programming tools speed aplication development and reduce software complexity.
The Real-Time Problem Solved
Successful machine operation requires quality motion control and attentive software that describes machine behavior with time critical precision and consistency. Concurrent acitivities must all receive control attention at intervals ranging from 250 to 1000 microseconds. Solving this problem can be difficult, particularly with PC operating systems which do not have real-time chracter such as Windows '95.
Motion Server, Douloi Automation's second generation motion controller, solves this real-time control problem. Based on AMD's power 486DX5 processor, Motion Server provides from 4 to 16 axes of mixed servo and stepper motor control and 48 bits of digital I/O in a single ISA slot. As well as motion control, Motion Server performs as an independent, real-time machine control coprocessor augmenting the PC with an additional 486 and a real-time operating system. Motion Server can take on as much or as little machine control responsibility as desired to solve the application.
Motion Control Tailoring
Motion Server can execute application programs at controller sample-rate frequencies. Unlike conventional motion controllers with fixed feature sets, Motion Server capabilities such as electronic gearing, electronic camming, tangent servo, master/slave operation, motion superposition, and robot kinematics can be tailored from their standard stock implementation by developers. New controller functions can be created to fulfill unique aplication specific needs through Servo Application Workbench, Douloi's rapid application development environment. This flexibility insures that developers will never come up short in controller capabilities.
Controller Decision Made Simple
